Mukesh's Story

Mukesh, the son of a construction worker, joined HHSB in 2003 and is presently 10 years old. Mukesh was born with normal vision but at the age of one and a half years he suffered a severe fall which was followed by violent headaches and convulsions and other complications.

Eventually, he was more or less immobilised and lost vision completely in the right eye.

 In spite of all this trauma, his attitude is extremely positive and he dreams of becoming a doctor to help others.

On investigation at the Tata Memorial Hospital a cancerous tumour was detected and surgery was performed by inserting a shunt. This however, did not help and Mukesh has lost vision in his left eye as well, and now has only light perception.
